Wing Chun Martial Arts Classes in Bramley and Bradford
Looking for martial arts in Leeds? I teach Wing Chun — a practical, efficient martial art that develops relaxation, awareness, and effective self-defence skills.
My Wing Chun classes run in Bramley and Bradford every Monday and Wednesday evening. Classes offer a friendly and focused environment for students of all levels. Whether you’re completely new to martial arts or looking to deepen your understanding of internal principles, classes provide a space to explore what makes Wing Chun so effective.

What Is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art known for its simplicity, structure, and efficiency. Instead of relying on brute strength or speed, it teaches you to use body alignment, relaxation, and sensitivity. Wing Chun is based on two core principles; minimum movement and economy of motion.
Training develops balance, posture, coordination, and confidence — skills that extend far beyond self-defence.
It’s a martial art suited to anyone, regardless of size, age, or strength.
My Approach to Teaching
I’ve studied Wing Chun for over 30 years, beginning under Sifu Colin Ward, with whom I trained for more than two decades before opening my own school in 2010.
More recently, I’ve continued to develop my understanding under Sifu Daniel Parr in Sheffield, following the Chu Shong Tin lineage, which focuses on the internal and mindful aspects of Wing Chun — often referred to as “the thinking man’s martial art.”
Classes focus on:
- Core Wing Chun drills and forms – helping you understand the principles
- Sensitivity and contact training (Chi Sau) – a bridge between principles and techniques
- Structure, relaxation, and intent – how intent influences your movements and efficiency
- Real-world applications for self-defence – bridging practice and “street” oriented reality.
- Internal development and posture refinement – helping you understand connection and relaxation
Each class is designed to help students progress naturally, building both physical skill and internal understanding.
